London’s theatre scene offers more than what you see on stage
London is home to a rich network of theatres, rehearsal spaces, training organisations and creative professionals.
London brings together performers, casting teams, agents, producers, rehearsal spaces and theatres.

For young performers, experiencing this environment can connect classroom learning with the work they see on stage.
They can train in a rehearsal room and then see professional work on stage.
They can explore a performance concept in class and observe how professional performers make similar choices in a complete production.
They can begin to understand how a production takes shape, both on stage and behind the scenes.

Discover how performers train, rehearse and respond to direction.

Explore how small changes in focus, gesture and expression can affect how a performance reads on camera.

Experience professional productions and develop artistic awareness.

Explore the people, places and productions that shape London’s theatre scene.
The environment is part of the learning experience
A short programme cannot replace long-term training.
But the right experience can give a young performer a new point of reference for what professional training looks like — and what might be possible next.
Ten days inside the world of musical theatre
In 2026, NOVA and Cantabile delivered a ten-day musical theatre summer programme in London.
Students trained in person with West End practitioners in small groups, taking part in activities including:
- Singing
- Acting
- Dance
- Acting for Camera and Self-Tape Practice
- Recording
- Professional Headshots
- West End Theatre Visits
Students experienced musical theatre first-hand through professional training, live performances and the creative life of the West End.

Skills that grow beyond performance
Musical theatre training can support a future in performance while also helping young people develop skills they can use well beyond the stage.
Through musical theatre, young people can develop:
Confidence
Express ideas and perform in front of others.
Creativity
Explore different interpretations and make artistic choices.
Empathy
Understand characters, perspectives and experiences beyond their own.
Collaboration
Listen, respond and create alongside other performers.
Self-Awareness
Reflect on their work and consider how their choices come across to an audience.
Adaptability
Receive feedback, make adjustments and try again.
Whether students hope to pursue performance professionally or enjoy theatre as part of a broader education, these skills have lasting value.
